Sailing plays a very important role in the Greenlandic infrastructure, and a cruise along the West coast of Greenland is a fabulous way of experiencing this beautiful and varied country. Accommodation is in outside cabins with private facilities.

Ilulissat

Town of the giant icebergs and home to the UNESCO designated Ilulissat Ice Fjord. This is the third largest town in Greenland and a place where modern life meets traditional life style, all surrounded by amazing nature. Here, ice is the main theme; get close to the icebergs covered in the rays of the midnight sun on an amazing Ice Fjord cruise or join a full-day boat excursion to the calving glacier Eqip Sermia. You can also visit some of the remote settlements where fishing and hunting still is the only way to survive.

The Sea Voyage

Meet the local population traveling from town to town to visit relatives and friends along the coast. Enjoy the beautiful and varied landscape as we leave the rugged Arctic nature in the Disko Bay and reach green and fertile South Greenland. We sail in open waters and narrow straits, so close that you can almost touch the mountains. Along the way the ship calls at the major towns and small settlements. Everywhere, the arrival of the ship makes people rush to the harbor to welcome friends and relatives. Life on board is relaxing; enjoy the view and make sure to keep your eyes open, as humpback whales are sometimes seen.

Narsaq

Narsaq (meaning The Plain in Greenlandic) is a charming town known for its colorful wooden houses, where modern living is mixed with ancient traditions. It is an area of great geological and historic interest; several interesting minerals can be found only a short hike from the town in the Kvanefjæld area as well as the Viking ruins of Dyrnæs and the Landnamsgård which are among the oldest Viking ruins found in South Greenland dating back to AD 1000.
